Welcome to P. N. Das College

The college was established on 20th August, 1962, through the efforts of eminent visionaries of the locality which in those days was thronged by people belonging to socially and economically backward classes with the mission to equip and empower students, especially from displaced (consequent to the Partition of the nation) and socio-economically backward families.

The college was initially affiliated to Calcutta University and from 2008 the college has been affiliated to the West Bengal State University. The college offers undergraduate courses in  all the three programs: Humanities, Science and Commerce;  Honours courses in English, Bengali, Education, Political Science, History, Geography and Commerce. Apart from this, the college offers General courses in Science, Humanities and Commerce.

From the academic session 2018-19, Choice Based Credit System has been introduced in all the programmes.

Apart from academics, the college has a tradition of extracurricular activities. Students are actively involved in cultural activities and sports. Students are motivated to participate in all college and departmental activities, seminar,debate, quiz etc. Entry in Services Coaching is arranged for all students by the college. In a nutshell it can be said that the college is committed to overall development of students.

Extension and Social Outreach Programmes, various value- based seminars are arranged by the college to imbibe the characteristics of a good citizen in the students.

The lush green campus with trees, water body, garden and playgrounds provides an ambience conducive to learning.
